His path to radio has taken him from the Flathead Valley, across the Pacific Ocean, and throughout the USA.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Austin spent six years in the Navy as a parachute rigger, where one of his duties before the pilots took off was playing music for them as they geared up for their flights in the paraloft. Naturally, that meant finding the right heavy metal to get them ready to pull 5 Gs in the sky. It was his first experience playing music for an audience, and unknowingly, the beginning of his career behind the microphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After leaving the Navy, Austin attended Colorado State University, where he got his start in college radio and began doing play-by-play for the Colorado State Rams volleyball team. He went on to take on a variety of roles in sports broadcasting and radio before eventually returning home to Montana and joining The Monster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When he\u2019s not behind the microphone, Austin enjoys spending time with his dog, family and friends and getting outdoors whenever he can. He loves fishing, hunting, live music, video games and taking advantage of everything Montana has to offer.
